Upright stalks of slender, mint-green foliage that bear flower spikes of soft-purple from mid summer into early autumn. Each flower looks like a small helmet, giving this plant its common name.
A pollinator extraordinaire, it's compact, and drought tolerant. The dark green leaves have eggplant-colored edges and are supported by deep maroon stems, making a show-stopping combination. This is a native selection.
