A charming compact perennial with large, star-shaped, deep blue flowers that open from distinctive balloon-like buds in mid to late summer. The upright, clump-forming habit is well suited to borders, containers, and smaller gardens. Flowers attract bees and butterflies and make excellent cut flowers. Best in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. Deer resistant and easy to grow once established.
