A beautiful, versatile, long-lived warm-season grass with a strong presence from summer through winter. Flowering begins in July, while the foliage gradually deepens to rich dark red, starting in July and reaching its full color by September. Growing to 4' tall, it thrives in full sun and is drought tolerant once established. The foliage remains attractive through winter, providing valuable seasonal interest. Cut back to 6" in early spring. Northeastern U.S. native species.
