Citrus scented and flavored tropical herb. Known to repel mosquitoes!
Plant lemongrass in the spring after the last frost has passed. It's best to wait for the weather to warm up before planting outdoors, usually when temperatures are consistently above 50°F (10°C). After about 3–4 months, you can begin harvesting lemongrass. Look for the mature outer stalks to harvest first, leaving the inner stalks to continue growing. Harvesting lemongrass stimulates new growth, so don’t be afraid to trim it regularly.
