Designing for Privacy
Designer: Linda Albert
Creating a Private Urban Oasis
This space presented a unique design challenge due to multiple structural columns that had to be carefully integrated into the layout. At the same time, the clients wanted to create a private retreat, shielding the space from surrounding apartments while maintaining an open, airy feel. The design process included close collaboration between the client and designer to align plant selections and planter styles with aesthetic preferences.
The goal was to transform the space into a functional and inviting urban oasis, balancing style, comfort, and greenery to make the most of every square foot.

An Inside Look
Design Presentation Process
The drawing linked below provides an example of our design presentation process. The planter layout in this instance was approved but instead of the trellised Japanese red maples, the client opted for the evergreen magnolias pictured. We provide a detailed design drawing utilizing a pallet of diverse plant options.
