'Black Pearl’ has the graceful growth habit of the ‘Rising Sun’ Redbud, with color that echoes the beloved ‘Ruby Falls’ Redbud, and the hardiness of the native Eastern Redbud. This unique cultivar really stands out with deep purple, heart-shaped leaves that gives a tricolor show of foliage. Lavender blooms cover the tree in early spring before leaves appear. Will tolerate both sun and part shade but achieves the best color in full sun.
