Chelsea Garden Center's beautiful garden boxes and planters are crafted from solid teak grown by our vendor's company, which is located in democratic Costa Rica. Our planters were originally designed by our in-house master carpenter and were later improved upon by our designer in order to meet the high standards that have given us our shining reputation over the years. These versatile planter boxes offer terrific value and are designed not to require liners. All hardware is stainless steel. Holes in the base as well as teak footings underneath provide for drainage in outdoor settings.
 In order to ensure a source of consistently superior teak wood that is environmentally friendly, our vendor develops and maintains their own teak plantations. Many years ago, they planted hundreds of thousands of trees in Costa Rica in an effort to reforest areas of the country, which had been extensively denuded. The trees are tended with great expertise and care, and in a process spanning decades, they produce the finest teak wood in the world. Each of the plantations is managed in a sustainable, environmentally sound way so that their small part of the tropical rain forest will be permanently preserved. Their dedication and hard work show through in the quality and beauty of their products.
